PCT South California, PCT Thru Hike / 14.04.2018

Hiked 20.9 miles today, at mile 295.9 My pack is heavier, but I am eating much better. With plenty of snacks, I munch when my energy gets low. This morning I had a no-cook breakfast, cold coffee and 2 pop tarts. Last night I had avocado on triscuits. I’ve added cooked turkey sausage to my pantry. Tonight I made Couscous with sausage gravy loaded with sausage. I ate some of it in a tortilla. Hikers will tell you that anything can be wrapped in a tortilla. Usually a PCT...

Hiked 8.9 miles. At mile 275 Nice to be in a room with only 3 bunks. They must purposely put people together with something in common because I am bunking with a couple of guys closer to my age. Also thanks to Matt for picking me up when I didn’t even have a thumb out.  Tonight in Big Bear Hostel My legs are feeling the pain from hiking fast. We were doing a little better than 3 mph is my guess....

At mile 256.2 ”It’s gonna be alright, Everything is going to be fine at the end of the line.” The End of The Line by The Traveling Wilburys Today I started at 6000 ft and climbed to over 8000 ft. I spent the remainder of the day walking at elevations of 8000 - 8500 feet. This made it much cooler and pleasant than the miles walking up Mission Creek gorge yesterday. Today’s view of Mission Creek Gorge from above. There are little green areas around the creek and even...
